I recently released a powerful episode of the all new Daily Motivations Podcast based on one of my favorite Latin proverbs:

If the wind will not serve, take to the oars.

Listen, life isn’t easy. It’s not supposed to always go in your favor.

If you only do the work, if you only pursue your goals when life is easy, you’re not going to get very far.

Yup, sometimes the winds of life will be against you. You will be emotional. Tired. Frustrated. Maybe you’ll go through financial hardship or heartbreak. These things WILL happen.

Do not just sit back and let the unfavorable current take your life somewhere you don’t want it to go.

No! Refuse to be a victim of your circumstances and refuse to be in the passenger’s seat of your life.

When the winds will not serve, take to the oars.

When your circumstances aren’t supporting your goals or aren’t helping you create the life you want, that’s when you dig in and WORK.

It’s the time to work HARDER, not the time to make excuses.

It’s time to roll up your sleeves and, through your own actions, through your own determination, through your own effort, take your life in the direction you want it to move.

Get up earlier.

Eat cleaner.

Workout harder.

Be more efficient.

Where you end up in life depends on if you drift along with your circumstances or if you take to the oars, dig in and create the life you want.

Enough.

Enough waiting. Enough wanting things to be different.

Enough with the excuses and exceptions.

Enough complaining that life isn’t going your way.

Enough with “it’s not fair” or “it’s too hard”.

Life isn’t fair. Life is hard. We know. It’s true for all of us.

Take to the oars.

MAKE a change. Create that change.

Every single day is full of CHANCES disguised as CHOICES.

What are you doing with them?

This very next chance that looks like a choice – what are you doing with it?

Show yourself that YOU have far more power than your circumstances (because you do).
