One of the fastest ways to accelerate your progress & increase your results is by training your brain to focus more consistently on what you want most instead of on what you want now.
This is the key to becoming stronger than your temptations & excuses.
In today’s episode I’ll talk about a 5-minute daily exercise to help you train your brain and I’ll share a snippet of a conversation I recently had with a client on this topic. Don’t miss it!
I hate to disappoint you, but “eating healthy” doesn’t guarantee fat loss.
I can’t tell you how many people I talk with who are frustrated that they’ve cleaned up their eating habits but aren’t seeing fat loss results.
Eating clean isn’t enough.
If what you’re doing isn’t working, it’s time for a change.
And while you’re here: get used to it. Get used to things changing. Get used to things not working. You won’t ever be able to adopt a strategy and expect it to work forever.
Don’t keep doing things that don’t work just because you stubbornly believe they should.
First, it’s important to acknowledge that your idea of “eating clean” might be flawed. Maybe you’ve believed what you’ve read or heard and it’s just not true. It might not be true in general or it just might not be true for you.
Second, the hormonal conditions required for fat burning are not as simple as “eat clean”.
I’ve talked at length on the podcast about how eating less and moving more does not necessarily trigger fat loss. Definitely check out this podcast if you want to understand why calories aren’t the be-all-end-all of fat loss.
There are undeniable fat loss best practices and I’m going to share them with you today.
They aren’t complicated. They don’t require counting or measuring. They are simple, straight forward and will also increase your energy and improve your mood.
I actually used to sell this as an e-book but I’ve decided I want every single one of you to be able to access it for free. You can download it immediately right here. Feel free to share it!
No matter what you do, I hope you’ll keep this in mind:
Break the mold. You don’t have to do anything in your life the way others do it, the way you’ve thought it should be done.
Do what works for you. That’s all you should be paying attention to.
You don’t have to believe what you’ve always believed or conform to what others say is right or true (including what I say!) Find what is true for you. Find what works for you.
Whether or not you’ve ever heard of billionaire business tycoon Ray Dalio, you can absolutely learn from his philosophies on life & success.
In 2010 he published his own principles & operating systems for wealth, happiness and goal achievement. In today’s episode we’re mining the billion dollar life lessons contained within.
Without exception, these principles are game changers!
If you’re goal is health, fitness, fat loss, financial or anything in between, you won’t want to miss today’s episode!
The other day I was in the middle of a hard workout and I thought of a lesson I learned from one of my past trainers (and great friend), Nathan Keil.
See, I used to use the transition from one exercise to another as a build in pause or rest. Whether it was 5 seconds or a minute, it was a built-in rest.
One day, during a particularly intense workout, Nathan said, “go immediately to the first rep of the next movement. No rest. No pause. Get to the next rep as fast as possible”.
Even if I just did one rep of the next thing, the point was to break the habit of that pause.
After my workout, I realized just how applicable this is to life.
Let’s say you eat something you wish you hadn’t or don’t feel too proud of. Isn’t it so common to hem and haw about how to get back on track? How to bounce back? We use the transition as pause.
We overthink and overcomplicate.
What if we just got to the next great choice as fast as possible? No thinking, no planning, no strategizing. Just get to the next great choice as fast as possible.
Don’t miss today’s short episode to figure out how you can bounce back faster and take your performance to the next level.
