484: Proudly Disciplined

484: Proudly Disciplined

Last week, I had a powerful call with one of my Primal Potential Masters Club friends. We were talking about how she wanted to rebrand herself. We’re doing this to give us a great sense of certainty & direction that will help in all our many moments of decision making.

Hotel behemoth MGM recently decided to rebrand themselves. In their video, they clarify their new brand: “We’re not in the hotel business. We’re in the holy sh*t business”.

Having that clarity in their brand makes all their decisions easier. As they decide what should be in their lobby, what the guest rooms should look like, what their restaurants should serve and which books they should act, they will be guided by their brand: we are in the holy sh*t business.

So, those of us in the Primal Potential Masters Club are doing the same. Today, I’m sharing with you one of those conversations. I know you’re going to love it!

You Don’t Lose, You Choose

In episode 481, I introduced the idea that you don’t lose your way, you choose your way.

If you’d rather listen to this blog than read it, please hit play. Otherwise, keep reading below.

So many people talk about how they have lost their way or they have fallen off the wagon as if it wasn’t simply a result of choices they made.

I don’t say that to condemn or criticize. I say it to remind you that when it comes to the choices you make, you are in control.

There is no losing your way. Good, bad or indifferent, you are choosing your way. In every moment, you are choosing. You’re choosing your attitude, your perspective and your actions.

When you take responsibility for your choices, there’s less drama and less powerlessness. You simply own the fact that you make choices.

You can choose to be critical or you can choose to take responsibility without emotion. Drama free ownership.

You can always make a different choice.

You don’t lose your way. In every moment, you choose your way.

483: That’s Not Relevant

483: That’s Not Relevant

What are the narratives you escape to that have nothing to do with what you’re trying to achieve and where you’re trying to go? In today’s episode, we’re pointing out where you’re giving your energy & thought that simply isn’t relevant. It’s either attaching you to a problem or past pattern or it’s keeping you from stepping into the solution.

If you’re struggling to get out of your head, out of your way and make consistent progress towards your goals, you don’t want to miss today’s short episode!

Today Wants You

There’s a super-cute store on Cape Cod called Wish. I love going in there to find adorable cards & prints that excite and motivate me. My last visit was no exception.

If you’d rather listen to this blog than read it, please click play. Otherwise, keep reading below.

I walked in and fell in love with this card.

today wants you

Today: bring energy. BE ENERGY.

Today: bring enthusiasm. BE ENTHUSIASM.

With your attitude, energy and enthusiasm, there are sparks to ignite!

473: Performance On Demand

473: Performance On Demand

Do you ever read something that makes you immediately level up your actions or effort? I sure do and I love it when that happens!

I’m no longer intrigued by things that sound nice. I’m only intrigued by things I can act on immediately. I’m intrigued by things that help me improve what I do & how I act. My mind is full of ideas. I think we need to know less but do more.

Today’s episode is about something that moved me to action and immediately increased my effort. It’s an Instagram post from CrossFit athlete Dan Bailey. After injury and surgery, here’s what he had to say:

Currently a little over 3 weeks out from surgery after rupturing my quad tendon. Still pretty swollen but it’s getting better every week.

Progress isn’t measured in lbs and kilos but centimeters of knee flexion and reduction in swelling (that and setting a goal to bench 4 wheels). Everyday starts with a POD attitude (performance on demand @tosh.crookedbutterfly) meaning, this is the best your going to feel today, even though your knee looks like a softball, that doesn’t really matter, performance is still demanded, so what can you do mentally, physically and spiritually to increase your work capacity? I’d be lying if I said this is what happens everyday but it’s what I shoot for.

What can you do mentally, physically & spiritually to increase your work capacity?

This challenged me and made my day better. Today’s episode will do the same for you. Take a listen!
