Improve the quality of your sleep
Yes! Thank you so much! I read Hal Elrod’s book this summer and began a morning routine which fizzled out when one of my children was waking up a lot during the night…This is just the pep talk I need to get back into it! I am especially encouraged by your comments about not hitting the snooze button! I never really considered what that very act was doing to my ability to accomplish my goals. The fact that I am telling myself that my intentions don’t matter…I’m going to do what I feel like doing in the moment…is so true!
I was encouraged a long time ago reading St Josemaria Escriva’s small book called “The Way.” He refers to that moment when you wake up and get out of bed as the, “heroic minute.” I used this thought to drag myself out of bed when I had a newborn baby and other children to feed breakfast, get dressed, etc. I had forgotten about it until listening to his episode. 🙂
“The heroic minute. It is the time fixed for getting up. Without hesitation: a supernatural reflection and… up! The heroic minute: here you have a mortification that strengthens your will and does no harm to your body. It’s so discouraging to find oneself beaten at the first skirmish” (Josemaria Escriva, The Way).
Hi DeAnn! I’m so glad you enjoyed this episode! And I LOVE what you shared about the heroic minute! That’s absolutely awesome!!!
