Inaction Fuels Fear

by | Sep 25, 2017 | Blog

What a day yesterday was. I learned so much about my own fear & inaction that Sunday evening is actually the topic of tomorrow’s podcast (episode 392). You won’t want to miss it, that’s for sure! I sent out a super quick voice note about it this morning to those on the Primal Potential VIP email list, but, we’ll be diving deeper tomorrow.

Since I’m kind of in “recover mode” from yesterday’s craziness, I’m going to keep this really short:

Inaction fuels fear. Inaction creates fear. Delay fosters doubt and makes change harder than it needs to be. It makes your journey to change longer than it needs to be and creates misery & uncertainty along the way.

Feel the fear but don’t feed it.

We feed our fears with our negativity. We feed our fears when we don’t take action or when we give in to excuses and exceptions. Sometimes we literally feed our fears with food.

We feed our fears when we wait. When we put things off. When we agree to “I’ll start tomorrow”.

Today, challenge yourself to identify what you want and take decisive action.

Don’t wait. Don’t talk yourself out of it. Just do the work. Move in the direction of your goals. Identify one thing you can do & make it happen.

Yeah, I know this is so vague but it’ll be a lot more clear and specific tomorrow in episode 392.

I didn’t workout today. While I’m all about the priority of self-care when life feels hard, sometimes rest is more valuable than stress (physical stress, I mean).

I did go for a walk to enjoy the warm day, but I consciously chose to skip the gym.

My body was adjusting to the meds I took last night (more detail on this in tomorrow’s podcast) and I just physically wasn’t well enough to get through the workout.

In fact, I had to sit in my car for 20 minutes to feel well enough to go into the grocery store! Definitely not a workout day but I’ll be back at it tomorrow!

On the food front:

I had a heavy dose of nausea today so I didn’t have anything until about noon when I whipped up my cabbage salad bowl with bacon, eggs, walnuts, cabbage and Primal Kitchen Chipotle Lime Mayo.

My order from Thrive Market came & it was perfect! Since I had ordered a bunch of different flavors of Miracle Noodles (they aren’t really noodles), I was able to make chicken soup! How perfect!

I had previously ordered the Thrive Market brand bone broth so I fried up the miracle noodles in some grass fed butter & then tossed them in the bone broth. So totally winning! What a happy camper I am!

In October 2019, our relationship with Thrive Market changed. They decided to put their marketing dollars in avenues outside of podcasting but we still think they’re a good choice if you’re looking to save money on health & personal care products.
