If you’re living together but have different health goals and priorities, how do you navigate it?
That’s one of the most common questions I get about my relationships. My boyfriend and I are now living together but we have very different lifestyles and personalities. Though we are in no way relationship experts, today we’re answering your questions about love, food, weight, personality differences and much more.
Curious about what questions we answer on the episode? Here are a few of them. If you have questions we didn’t answer, shoot me a message on Instagram or comment in the show notes and we’ll absolutely answer them! The episode got kind of long so we didn’t get to all that were submitted but there are more answers to more questions below!
Bonus questions:
Are you planning to get married? We are planning to rennovate our house. That’s our only plan. Haha.
Do you want kids? I texted him this question and this is his exact response: “We seem pretty fluid on that one.” I love the idea of children. I don’t love the idea of the responsibility. We don’t have immediate plans for kids but we aren’t against it either. He has a daughter, I should add. I’m answering this as to whether or not we want to have kids together.
What does he do for work? A little bit of everything. He’s a real estate agent, a drone pilot and works for a local appliance company. He’s also resident handyman around the house.
What are your love languages? He hasn’t read the book. He says his love language is English. Mine are physical touch and words of affirmation.
Does he get to call you Betsy? Nope, “Betsy” is what my family calls me – only my family. He usually calls me “Bunny” or “babe”. He introduces me as “Elizabeth” and doesn’t call me Betsy.

In October 2019, our relationship with Thrive Market changed. They decided to put their marketing dollars in avenues outside of podcasting but we still think they’re a good choice if you’re looking to save money on health & personal care products.
Love, love, love this episode!!!! You guys are so cute together, what a blast you’d be to hang out with. This gives me hope that there are good guys out there yet. Thank you for sharing your personal lives and letting us hear a man’s perspective on the relationship.
Thanks so much for listening!
I really enjoyed this episode as my husband is a VERY picky eater and we often don’t agree on what to eat. Luckily he’s a meat and potatoes kind of guy so I can make dinners that make us both happy. The big thing I’ve learned is that I have to stop trying to change him to think my way. We’re going on 27 years of marriage and if he hasn’t changed by now most likely he won’t. On another podcast on judging others you said ‘you be you and let me be me’ (or something like that) and I use that phrase whenever I’m about ready to judge somebody whether it’s my husband’s eating habits or how somebody looks.
Anyway what I really wanted to do is ask you for help on how to shop. I went to Thrive Market and I see all those pastas and such and at first my brain went into ‘if it’s here I can eat it’ mode but I’m pretty sure that’s not true. I don’t know how to go to a website like Thrive Market and know what I should be shopping for. I’m quite certain just because it’s organic doesn’t mean it’s something I want to put in my body if my goal is fat loss. Can you give me some tips on how to shop? What to look for? Thanks, Connie
Hi Connie! I avoid things in boxes & bags, if that helps. I minimize starches and sugars. You’re right about organic not being the guide if the goal is fat loss. Take a listen to episode 195 of the podcast. I think you’ll find it a great starting point!
What is your boyfriend’s name and a pic of you two would be nice….love how open you are!
Hi Fran! Totally understand why people want those details but I’ve set personal boundaries around my personal life and prefer to keep his name and photo private. Thanks for your support!
That was so fun to listen to!! You guys are adorable!!!
Thank you!
