Your gut health is impacting everything. What happens in the gut does NOT stay in the gut. It impacts stress, anxiety, body composition and more!
For too long, we’ve thought about the microbiome as exclusive to digestion, absorption, constipation, diarrhea, bloating and gas. That’s just not true.
What happens in the microbiome influences every single aspect of your mental health, your hormones, your body weight, immune system, metabolism and everything in between!
If you have questions, please feel free to let me know!

I drink Kombuncha daily. I brew my own and have for several years. What good is it? What does it help with?
Also, if I take an antibiotic, do I need a special probiotic to repopulate my biome.
These are great questions, Shirley! Tackling the answers in tomorrow’s Q&A – tune in to episode 597 which airs May 4th and the answers will be in that show!

Can you suggest a good brand of probiotics? I am just looking at the bottle I have and it says nothin about live.
As I mentioned in this episode, to answer that question, one has to be clear on what they want it for. If you’re targeting anxiety or depression, the answer will be different than digestion. Even within digestion, the recommendation changes if the issue is diarrhea versus constipation versus bloating. That’s explained in more detail in this episode.
Is there a probiotic brand that you suggest in particular?

MIND BLOWN with this episode! WOW
2 things
1) My husband jokes sometimes that I have him so full when he eats he has to go to the restroom after because he has no room. Now I can tell him HEY that is a good thing. You should go to the restroom after each meal!
2) I remember saying many times and truly believing by the way that I thought God created me without a full gauge because even after eating a really big meal that someone else would be satisfied, I still felt hungry. Over time I noticed this way better if I avoided Diet Cokes and also ate less carbs but now I wonder if part of that (more than likely) was actually a lack of gut health making me feel hungry still! It was my body saying HEY Tia, I know you just ate but we need GOOD FUEL Girl! WOW! This is going on one of my FAV Episode lists!
Question: You mention we should NOT overeat even good food like veggies. Does the same apply to drinking too much water in a sitting? Does it “flush” out the bacteria perhaps?
This episode was fascinating!! I’m having a hard time finding a probiotic with the three anxiety/brain/depression strains that you listed…do you have a recommendation? The one I’m using only has one of those.
