We have more bacterial cells than human cells. We have more bacterial DNA than human DNA. There is no question that our microbiome has a massive impact on every single aspect of health. If there is an issue with your bacterial diversity or quantity, it will have an impact on your health.
The bacteria, viruses and fungi that make up your microbiome play a massive role in digestion, metabolism and body composition, but that’s not all. They are a major player in immunity, mood, cognitive ability, heart health, inflammation and more.
In today’s episode we’re looking deep into the impact of the microbiome and what we can do about it!

In October 2019, our relationship with Thrive Market changed. They decided to put their marketing dollars in avenues outside of podcasting but we still think they’re a good choice if you’re looking to save money on health & personal care products.
Great podcast- so fascinating. I would love to learn more – any recommendations on further reading?
Hi Sarah! Totally depends on what specifically you want to learn. The challenge with books is that we are learning so much about this that books are lacking as soon as they are published. I strongly suggest learning more from your body, by paying closer attention to what signals your body is sending you. If I find an amazing book, I’ll absolutely share it as soon as I do. I will be doing more episodes on this (specifically options for testing). Have you listened to the other episodes I’ve done on the microbiome?
