Here are the questions we’re tackling in today’s episode:

  • How did you get out of debt?
  • How do you deal with overwhelming thought of I must change everything at one time?
  • I have made changes to my diet. I am eating healthy, exercising and I still can’t lose weight. What or where should I start first? I am 47, should I start with blood work to check my hormones?
  • I wish I could join the 12 week transformation class now but it’s in progress right now. I really would like to get started now. What would you recommend I do? Do you have any other program/coaching that I could start?
  • How the HECK do I get out of my slump I’ve been in for all my life? It’s just gradually gotten worse and my accountability has declined, and my husband is supportive but he’s not a motivator. How do I keep my accountability and motivation up high?

How do you get these changes to “sink in”? There’s so much you want and there’s so much you know – you’re spending a ton of time and energy on the goals you have, but the action-steps just aren’t consistently there.

This came up the other day on one of my 12 Weeks to Transformation coaching webinars and I wanted to dive into it on today’s show.

635: THIS Could Be Behind Your Hormonal Challenges

In the last few weeks, I have been asked at least once a day to talk more about the link between gut health & hormones. I recently announced that I am pregnant and I’ve shared that I KNOW a big part of the reason I was able to get pregnant naturally is because I focused on improving my gut health in the months before conceiving.

If you’ve followed my story, you know it involves a number of hormonal imbalances. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) when I was 16 years old. In my mid-twenties, a fertility specialist told me I’d need medical interventions to get pregnant. In my early thirties I was diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis, an auto-immune thyroid condition. When I froze my eggs in 2017, I was again told that it was highly unlikely that I could get pregnant without intervention.

And yet, I did. In fact, we conceived the very first month we began to try.

But don’t fret – today’s episode isn’t about fertility (entirely). Our gut health impacts our hormones. Thyroid hormones, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, insulin…gut health impacts menopause, energy, body composition and so much more.

That’s what we’re looking at today.

633: Obesagens, Endocrine Disruptors & Other Chemical Concerns

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about endocrine disruptors, obesagens and other chemical concerns that might play a role in your weight struggle, hormonal issues and other health challenges.

I’ve done a few episodes on the past, but this came up for me again as I was clearing out my kitchen for it’s renovation. Our kitchen collection has grown since my boyfriend moved in and people come by with plastic party-ware that gets left behind.

I am not here to say that making changes to your food wrap, dishware and cookware is an option for everyone or a priority for all. However, I do think it’s an important conversation to have, especially for those of us who are putting time and money into hormone issues, weight issues or any other health challenge.

[smart_track_player url=”http://traffic.libsyn.com/primalpotential/633_PFOA_obesagen_Fabletics.mp3″ background=”#00ccbb” social_email=”true” ]

What are endocrine disruptors?

Most importantly, listen to today’s episode in full. In short. they are exogenous chemicals that interfere with any hormone action. That could include blood sugar balance, thyroid function, fertility, fat burning and so much more.

What I’ve bought for my own kitchen:

Skillets, pots & bakeware from Le Creuset (in Indigo)

For less expensive options, choose stainless steel or cast iron. Glass is also a good bakeware option.

Weck for glass storage containers

Bee’s Wrap reusable food wrap

As I add baby gear to the mix, I’ll be sure to share my choices and why I made them.

Looking for a ticket to ASCEND? Here you go! They’ll be gone soon!

What is ASCEND?
ASCEND is Primal Potential’s annual weekend workshop where we dive deep into personal growth, mindset and taking life to the next level.

When & where?
November 8th-10th 2019 in downtown Portland, Oregon. We’ll have a super casual meet & greet on Friday night with apps and drinks and then we’ll go all day Saturday and all day Sunday, wrapping up by 4pm Sunday.

How is it different from the podcast or from the 12 Weeks to Transformation?
Here’s the best way I can describe it – there is something truly magical that happens when you remove yourself from the distractions of daily life and give two full days to yourself – to your growth – to tearing down the walls that keep you from the very best, brightest life possible for you. This is as close as there is to a short cut to growth, progress and success. Every single time I do the work to step out of my life and invest myself in a business workshop or a personal development workshop, I leave feeling like I am YEARS ahead of where I was when I walked in. Folks who were at ASCEND in Nashville and Boston are STILL using the tools we explored there!

What can I expect?
For your expectations to be exceeded. Seriously. To leave feeling more clear, more focused and more inspired than you’ve ever been. To leave knowing what you want to do and believing that you can and you will do it!

What’s included?
In addition to the workshop material over two days, you’ll receive recordings of each session so you can revisit the material. Lunch is included both Saturday & Sunday and appetizers and drinks on Friday.. You’ll get a workbook and a great swag bag!

How do I get my ticket?
Click this link! There are only 80 total tickets for this event and as of July 19th, only 19 remain.

Today’s episode is brought to you by Fabletics! Shop through fabletics.com/primalpotential to take advantage of their epic deal to get 2 pairs of leggings for just $24!
